Dr. Thierry Wizman brings 25 years of experience as a financial markets economist, investment strategist, portfolio manager, and trader covering economics and economic policy developments that affect financial markets in the developed and emerging economies. He is currently Division Director, and Global Interest Rates and Foreign Exchange Strategist for Macquarie, Australia’s largest Investment Bank. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Macroeconomic Analyst at Artha Capital, an emerging markets hedge fund in Stamford, CT, where he was also a Director of Research. Prior to joining Artha in 2009, Dr. Wizman was with Fortress Investment Group, where he was a Managing Director assigned to Drawbridge, Fortress’ liquid hedge funds division. From 2000 to 2008, Dr. Wizman was at Bear Stearns & Co., as a Senior Managing Director in the Global Equities Division, where he served in various roles, including Global Emerging Markets Strategist, Latin America Portfolio Strategist, and Co-Head of Emerging Markets Research. Dr. Wizman began his career in 1991 as an Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he was involved with monetary policymaking issues at the Federal Reserve. Dr. Wizman graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Vassar College and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
