David Cheikin

As the head of the New York Region for Brookfield Properties, David is responsible for the performance and strategic positioning of Brookfield’s 20 million feet of existing office and retail space and 7 million square feet of development.
Prior to his current role, David was the project lead for Brookfield’s recent retail repositioning and office reletting at Brookfield Place. The $250 million Brookfield Place retail redevelopment is now 95% leased and solidified as the premier luxury shopping district and culinary destination in Lower Manhattan. During the same time period, Dave and his team leased over 5,000,000 square feet of office space within the complex, including the 700,000 square foot headquarters for Time Inc, 450,000 square foot headquarters for Hudson’s Bay Company and 400,000 square foot headquarters for Bank of New York Mellon.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2002, David was a lease and valuation specialist in Jones Lang LaSalle’s New York Office. David has an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Rochester. He is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson and a member of The Real Estate Board of New York.
